Young and rising, Cole Brings Plenty was known for his parts in “Into the Wild Frontier” and “The Tall Tales of Jim Bridger.” He gained more recognition for his role in “1923,” a prequel to the hit TV show “Yellowstone.” In “1923,” Cole played a sheepherder named Pete Plenty Clouds, a strong tribesman protecting his family and traditions from priests and settlers.
On March 31, 2024, police were called to an apartment in Lawrence after neighbors reported hearing a woman screaming for help. Police identified Brings Plenty as a suspect and issued an alert to area agencies. His family, worried about his whereabouts, reported him missing. His uncle, Mo, posted a missing person poster on Instagram, stating Cole was last seen leaving Lawrence in his 2005 white Ford Explorer.
On Friday, the Kansas Sheriff’s Department reported finding Cole Brings Plenty’s body in Johnson County. At about 11:45 a.m., police responded to a call about an empty car on Homestead Lane near Edgerton. They found Cole’s body in the woods nearby. The Lawrence Police Department had been searching for him due to reports of child abuse.
Despite his rising career, Cole Brings Plenty’s life was tragically cut short, leaving fans and family in shock.
