The human body keeps changing over time, we just need to remind ourselves that we used to look like Neanderthals. Now, a group of scientists is studying how the human body will look in the future. And the result is mind-blowing.
Meet Alice Roberts. She is an anatomist working on discovering how the human body should be without imperfections. Her body was recreated in the form of a wax figure and presented to a small audience. And what struck the people in the room the most was the baby’s head hanging out outside the model’s belly.
Roberts explained that the baby was like this to avoid pain in childbirth. “The baby’s the weirdest thing. That is the weirdest thing, but it’s very cute at the same time,” she said.
But the rest of the body was also something the audience discussed. Roberts explained that the model had “a chimp sturdy lower back to counter the faults of our flawed transition to standing upright.” The long legs are shock absorbent, and tiny pumps in her tights improve blood circulation.
